Last week, we hosted another webinar with TMCnet. This time about SIP servers on embedded systems: Powering SoHo communications. It seems that everything is moving to the clouds lately, and part of this migration is also happening in the PBX realm. That said, there is a wide range of servers that need to go into the small enterprise premises, as well as PBX implementations that doesn’t rely on the cloud. One of the poll questions that were addressed to the

We just hosted a webinar on TMCnet regarding Unified Communication HD Visual Communications for the Masses. A long title for a pretty simple concept: we have video communications today available. How can they be used? And what are the challenges of developing such solutions? These are the kind of issues we see vendors today dealing with. It is also why we started the designing hardware for HD post series. For me, the interesting part in this webinar was the question that was asked to the audience: do you participate in video calls? While almost a third of the participants are not using video communications, the rest do. Almost a third of our audience is active creators of such video communication sessions, while others are more passive. It would be interesting to see how this will change with the introduction of video calling solutions in the consumer market. You can view this visual communications webinar online if you want. I have also embedded here the slides for your enjoyment:

We’ve just officially announced our BEE client framework solutions, a broad family of multi-protocol, multi-platform VoIP products. While we have advocated in the past for multi-protocol clients, I think we’ve taken it a step further. Not only do we offer multi-protocol support, we now offer it over multiple platforms in quite a unique manner. Last week, I had 2 meetings back-to-back, in the middle of the night (at least here in Israel, as both were with the west coast) about

My dear friend, colleague and office ‘roommate’ Sagi Subocki is our Product Manager for everything SIP and IMS for developers. Last week, Anatoli Levine and Sagi hosted a webinar about LTE and the future of IMS. There was lots of interest in this webinar, with a high registration and participation rate. I guess the topic of LTE coupled with IMS is something that is getting high demand, and it makes sense – especially when you look at the VoLTE initiative

I actually haven’t got a clue, but Sagee told me I should write such a post so I did. Let’s see how it goes… iPhone OS 4.0 is now “out”. If you are looking for the official feature list, one of the best places for that would be Kevin C. Tofel’s post over at GigaOm. If there’s any quote from that post that you need to remember it’s this one: “… But the implementation approach and polish of these

Earlier this month we held the RADVISION Unified Communication Summit here in Tel-Aviv. Somehow, I was given the task of giving a closing key-note presentation with the words “Social” and “Media” in it. Initially, I hated the task – I always regard “social media” presentations as boring and a bit exaggerated. They tend to disregard marketing models that have worked for decades in favor of new ones, and they usually forget to indicate that for each successful social media campaign

LEGO® brick analogies are overused. I’ll accept that. Nevertheless, this is the best I can do at the moment, so please bear with me. The simplicity of the base element – The Brick itself – is amazing. The ability to universally click together bricks of different sizes and colors created the whole universe of “things”. Let’s just look at some facts: There are more than 300 million kids playing with LEGOs worldwide (not accounting for hordes of willing

Ran has written about standardizing human behaviors in the past, but I think he missed an important question that has surfaced with the latest hype of the Media Phone: who drops the call? I apologize in advance if this sounds like a long rant… My Cisco IP Phone In my office I am the proud “owner” of a Cisco IP Phone. A piece of robust technology, that has been assisting me in my daily work for years now. It

There’s a lot of talk around the blogosphere about Skype going SIP, especially in light of all their Joltid problems. People who are avid SIP advocates in our VoIP industry see this as a sign that Skype should (and will) migrate their service to SIP soon. I don’t see it coming. Any reason for Skype to adopt SIP? Andy Abramson wrote, a month ago, that he likes Google Talk’s concept of a browser-based video client, but he believes Skype

[Matan Barth is a Project Manager in our Global Services group. Since he is working on several projects that deal with IP PBX technologies, I've asked him to provide his views on this subject. As a result he'll be posting a series of posts on media relay. This is the first installment in the series.] To relay or not to relay – to paraphrase Shakespeare - is a decision that may well be as important as “to be or not
