[Here's something I've tried in the distant past, and liked it enough to start it over again. The idea is to talk to a customer, ask a few interesting and relevant questions, and have the Q&A published here (with the approval of the customer, of course). In a sense, it's a testimonial packed nicely inside a blog post form.]
As a start, I’ve approached Seowon Intech, a Korean company in the device component field. One of its product lines deals with WiMAX in all forms and shapes. As with all IP-based networks, the use of VoIP over WiMAX is quite popular, and to that end, Seowon Intech has licensed our Multimedia Terminal Framework (MTF) product.
Claude Chang, Deputy General Manager from Seowon Intech, was kind enough to answer a few questions.

Q: Tell me a bit about how you ended up licensing the MTF from RADVISION
We needed a solution to fit our WiMAX VoIP development for a large Chinese customer. With the little time that we had, and the feature set required, we had to find a solid framework to use in our product.
RADVISION solution was a great fit to our solution, although when we approached RADVISION, the price of the license for the MTF was a bit higher than we expected.
We did our research and found out that RADVISION’s reputation in the field of VoIP, and the level of support and software stability, is solid. Due to the constraints that we had, and in order to reduce the project’s risks, we’ve opted for the RADVISION’s MTF.
Q: What were your conclusions at the end of the project?
RADVISION’s reputation was not exaggerated. Our customers were happier knowing that we have selected the RADVISION product for this project – it was an important factor to them.
The thing we found most useful in the MTF was the ease of use. It took us very little time, from the moment we received the package, for us to be capable of using it and integrating it as part of our WiMAX product.
When we had technical problems or questions, your customer support was quick to respond; allowing us to move faster in our development work without the need to investigate each and every issue too much.
We enjoyed both worlds – we had the MTF’s source code, giving us the comfort and control over what we use within our product, but at the same time the level of support we received allowed us to focus on our own tasks without the need to debug code that was new to our engineers.
Q: Would you recommend the MTF to others?
Yes, I would. I approached RADVISION at first as a result of a recommendation of others in the Korean market. I would recommend RADVISION’s developer products to other companies who are looking for VoIP solutions simply because the level of support provided me the ease of mind that I needed through the stressful development process.
