There comes a time when you read someone else’s blog post and say: “Darn! I should have written that one!”
It is especially frustrating when you have to deal with a series of such posts.
Well, reading Alan Percy from Audiocodes, over at No Jitter really made me knock myself out. He’s writing a series of posts about why SIP interoperability is so hard.
Here’s the introduction from the first post in this series:
Today I thought it would be good to start a multi-part series of posts to explore why SIP interoperability seems to be as challenging as it appears, how the vendors are dealing with it and solutions you can use to solve difficult interoperability challenges.
I’m an avid follower of No Jitter, and this specific series has great content. If you’re dealing with interoperability, SIP or VoIP – it’s a must read.
Alan has already written 3 posts, with more on the way:
- Part 1: The root cause of SIP interoperability hardships
- Part 2: The politics of SIP interoperability
- Part 3: The viability of a gold standard
I’m eagerly waiting the next posts in this series.
