IPTV Month Wrap-up

Categories: IPTV
October 1st, 2008

September is now over, and so is my IPTV Month here at VoIP Survivor.

IPTV Month

I’ve tried covering various topics during this month, but ended up focusing on the applications and the future of IPTV - without neglecting the signaling and protocol side of IPTV.

There are two ways to view IPTV:

  1. As a television that is connected to IP, and then the question is what additional viewing options do you get?
  2. From the operator’s perspective, where triple-play and quad-play (television, voice, data and mobile) becomes prevalent; and then the question becomes what services can be deployed and combined together.

Here’s a wrap-up of posts we had here during this month, with extra posts that Sagee wrote on his Video Over Enterprise blog:

Miscellaneous

Olympic Games

Applications and uses

Protocols and architecture

I hope you enjoyed September. See you all in October!
