Happy Birthday To U…CIF

Wow, is it a year already?  It seems like it was yesterday, when we publicly announced UCIF, the Unified Communications Interoperability Forum, and it’s already celebrating its first birthday. As someone who played an active role in the organization since itc inception, we’re delighted with the progress UCIF has made in its first 12 months.

Some of the accomplishments include the formation of several key task groups to focus on important topics such as the standardization of SVC (in the H.264\SVC group, headed by RADVISION’s CTO, Yair Wiener), endpoint provisioning, USB audio devices and more. Recommendations of UCIF, such as the USB Webcam recommendation, are already being adopted by leading work groups in the relevant organizations.

As a company with a strong commitment to enabling interoperability across different networks, protocols and devices we believe that the UCIF will not only further interoperability efforts in the video conferencing market, but also significantly strengthen the overall value and ease of use of these solutions. UCIF’s upcoming accomplishments, including securing interoperability testing labs and issuing the UCIF’s first interoperability mark, will certainly help us get there.

So we wish UCIF a very happy birthday, and we hope to walk it – hand in hand – to more great accomplishments and more market success.

Happy birthday UCIF
